Small Boat Summer Camp and Intro to Sailing Summer Camp Session 1 Begins
Give your kids the freedom to adventure in boats this summer. The Floathouse Petaluma has been putting kids in boats on the Petaluma River since 2007, and our small class sizes mean that every camper gets individual attention, and learns competence and confidence on the water. Small Craft Summer Camp (ages 10-14) runs 9am-1pm. Intro to Sailing Camp (ages 11-17) runs 1-4 pm.

Teen Boating Skills & Adventure Camp Begins
Get outside on the Petaluma River and learn boating of all kinds. This camp is geared to people aged 15-17 who want to gain skills and confidence on the water that will prepare them for further adventuring. Instructors with various backgrounds will mentor and guide. Culminates in long outing. M-F, 10 am to 2 pm. No experience necessary.

Bands on The Basin Summer 2024
A Party on the Petaluma River that began during COVID and has only grown since then. Clearly, we like our boats, we like our bands, and we love our downtown turning basin. The Floathouse Docks are the best stage in town! Lineup TBD, and sponsors are welcome! Be part of the best waterline party in the Bay Area! This is a fundraiser for The Floathouse Petaluma, a project of the nonprofit Petaluma Small Craft Center.

Petaluma River Cleanup
Join your community on the water for the annual Petaluma River Spring Cleanup! The Floathouse Petaluma and Baskin Robbins encourage you to put this day of action on your calendar. We’ll supply the gloves and bags, you supply the good will and sense of adventure! Rent any watercraft, collect any trash, and collect your reward: an ice cream scoop coupon from our neighbors at Baskin Robbins, right up the ramp! This is a community-wide effort. April Adventure: Upriver Run
Who said you can’t relax on a Sunday morning? The Floathouse Petaluma is giving you permission to ride the tide, and let your troubles drift away. Using stay-dry Hobie Pedal Kayaks, twice as fast as paddle kayaks, and leaving your hands free for hydrating, photographing, pointing at wildlife and waving to your friends, we’ll take a two-hour tour from Lakeville Marina right into the center of historic downtown Petaluma. The Bay Area never looked so scenic!
April Adventure: Petaluma Downriver Paddle
No one expects to be able to enjoy this kind of relaxation these days, but here at The Floathouse Petaluma, we excel at providing peace and quiet. Join with friends old and new on this small-group outing in stay-dry Hobie Pedal Kayaks. Float on an outgoing tide from Petaluma’s historic downtown to the refurbished Gilardi’s Lakeville Marina, where a pleasant repast awaits. Marshlands in March: Upriver Run
Ride the incoming tide 6+ miles, from the vast marshlands of the Petaluma River right into downtown, docking at The Floathouse Petaluma. Using Hobie pedal kayaks, 2x as fast as paddle kayaks, you’ll have time and free hands to take photos, use binoculars to view wildlife, and hydrate as you drift into town on the tidal slough. This is a truly awesome experience; see why the Petaluma River is more than a slice through the landscape. Enjoy the tidal changes, see the wetlands in the afternoon on Saturday, and the morning on Sunday. Every day is different, and at these high tides, every moment is unique. Book here.
Marshlands in March: Downriver Paddle
There’s nothing like a ride downriver, enjoying the sights and sounds of our glorious wetlands from a seat on the high tide. Hobie pedal kayaks (2x as fast as paddle kayaks) allow you to cover the 6+ miles in around two hours, and leave your hands free for using binoculars or taking photos, sipping water, etc.
Note: This experience is not for beginners.
Snow Moon Paddle
While we may not have snow, we recognize the joys of a winter evening paddle under the full moon. Join your community on the Petaluma River in the early evening, and savor the sights of a night on the water. All paddlers receive 15% off at TAPS on the River after the paddle. Join us on The Floathouse docks for this iconic Petaluma holiday event. Our dock valets will help you set up your chairs and blankets, and you can enjoy the spectacle of the lighted boats large and small from your waterline vantage point. Celebrate river access together. Each dock section seats five adults, and your ticket gives you access to the docks from 4 to 8 pm.
Hunter's Moon Paddle

Witches & Wizards on The Water 2023
Witches and Wizards on the Water is back for a fourth (?) year. What began as an eight-witch paddle has become a Petaluma River tradition. This year The Floathouse has arranged for a costume judging, trick or treat route, and selfie spot! 90-minute and 2-hour rental slots all day long.
