Kick off Santa’s Riverboat Arrival with a splash! The Turkey Relay is Petaluma’s favorite pre-show on the water — a festive team relay where fun, costumes, and community spirit float together on the Petaluma River.
🚩 Hosted at The Floathouse Petaluma
All check-in, the skippers’ meeting, and the launch take place right here at The Floathouse, in the Petaluma Turning Basin — the lively heart of downtown and gateway to “Petaluma’s Longest Park.”
Relay handoffs happen on the water, creating a lively, spectator-friendly show before Santa’s grand arrival!

Head to Grand Central Petaluma (226 Weller Street) for the post-race party and raffle — every paddler receives a complimentary empanada, and raffle tickets are available both online and in person.
