Fleet Naming and Recognition Opportunities

What’s in a name? We believe it’s a measure of recognition for all those who’ve helped make access to the Petaluma River possible. In order to honor our donors, or those they choose to recognize with their gifts, we have a variety of naming and recognition opportunities available for The Floathouse Fleet.

As we enter our second year of business, we’d like to add three boats to our fleet that will help improve access opportunities for everyone:

Hobie Fiesta. Part boat, part board, all Hobie and all fun for everyone. One of the most common questions we get at The Floathouse, is “what single boat can a group of 4-6 of us take out together?” The 15’ X 80” Fiesta inflatable board has four seats with four Mirage pedal drives and room for a few more passengers. Like our other Hobies, it’s easy to operate, fast and fun too. We expect that this boat/board will get a lot of use. $7,500 ( includes a custom cover).

Hobie Compass Tandem Kayak. Boat for boat, our two Hobie Compass tandem pedal kayaks get more use than any other boats in our fleet. So much so that adding a third compass to the Floathouse fleet is one of our top priorities. $4,200.

Ocean Kayak Tandem Malibu. The 13’-4” Malibu sit-on-top tandem kayak is one of the workhorse boats in the Floathouse fleet. We rent it to couples, families and friends, and we use it for group and corporate outings, summer camps and special events. We have five of these beauties but space for one more to fill out our fleet. $1,600.

Electric Safety Launch & Drive-On Dock. The 12’-6” Highland 380 GT RIB (Rigid Inflatable Boat) with an electric motor and battery system from Pure Watercraft, will be the first of its kind on the Petaluma River, replacing a regular outboard motor, which is a heavy polluter and requires expensive maintenance. A Drive-On/Drive-Off dock system from Pacific Coast Marine will further decrease maintenance and the pollution from toxic bottom paints, adding years of service life to the safety launch and its mission to keep boaters safe on the Petaluma River. Going electric doesn’t come cheap though; but leading the way seldom does. $52,000.

If you’re interested in helping us purchase one of these boats and naming it, please contact us and we’d be happy to talk with you more.

Beyond your reach? No problem. Pool resources with family members or neighbors to buy and name a boat you can all be proud of. Support river access for all by bringing your organization or club into The Floathouse family with a new watercraft that advertises your good works. Or put your company name and logo on one of these much-needed craft, recognizing a corporate contribution to this prominent community project.

You can also contact us to discuss naming opportunities for the existing boats in our Floathouse fleet. There are still plenty of unnamed boats that deserve a name to recognize our community of donors.
