Floathouse On The Move (Again) Fundraiser

Can You Help The Floathouse Move Home?

While The Floathouse has enjoyed its visibility at the foot of the Water Street gangway, we’ve been asked to return to our original home in the Turning Basin. And while we’re happy to move back, there’s one problem: the mud.

Even before we moved in 2024 to make way for the installation of the new docks in the basin, the build up of silt was causing The Floathouse to go aground and wrack the docks at low tides. Unfortunately, the hoped for relief from the Army Corps dredge project late last year didn’t extend to The Floathouse footprint.

To solve the problem, we’ve come up with a plan to not only move back, but also move further out, to deeper water, to avoid the worst of the mud. This fix comes with some construction costs though, but the City of Petaluma has made an investment in The Floathouse and our move.

We need to raise $10,000 to fund the construction and complete the move. Our goal is to raise the remaining funds in the next six weeks so we can move back by Memorial Day—just in time for summer on the river.

Because this unexpected expense comes at our slowest time of the year, we’re turning to the people who have made The Floathouse possible from the beginning—our community of river lovers, paddlers, boaters, and supporters. If you’ve enjoyed time on the river with us, or simply believe in our mission of putting butts in boats and smiles on faces—we’d be grateful for your help.
