Petaluma’s favorite floating concert returns!
Join us for the 5th Annual Bands on the Basin—a one-of-a-kind celebration of local music, community, and the Petaluma River, all to support The Floathouse!
🌊 Paddle in, float up, or settle in at a nearby restaurant and enjoy live music echoing across the Turning Basin. Whether you’re grooving in a kayak, bobbing on a paddle board, cruising on a water bike, or dancing dockside with your toes in the water, this free riverside concert is pure Petaluma magic. The Floathouse has a huge variety of boats, boards and water bikes available for rental all day long!
📅 Date: July 12, 2025, 1 pm-7 pm.
📍 Location: The Turning Basin, Downtown Petaluma
🎟️ Admission: Free! But this is a fundraiser for The Floathouse—please consider donating to help us add The Fiesta (aka: A Party on The Water) to our fleet!
🛶 Rent a boat, bring your own, or just pull up a chair on the public docks, and enjoy the show.

3:00-4:30 PM: Soul Shake
5:00-7:00 PM: Forrest Day
🛶 Housekeeping Notes for Bands on the Basin
To help keep the day flowing smoothly, please note:
If you bring your own boat, please launch from the public docks on the turning basin, accessible from Weller Street (use 220 Weller Street for GPS.) DO NOT PARK IN RIVER PLAZA on Washington Street; you will be ticketed. NO personal boats will be allowed to launch from The Floathouse docks at 50 Water Street.
✅ RENTALS: We highly recommend booking your Floathouse rental online in advance! This is one of our busiest days of the year, and rentals fill up fast.
🕘 Rental hours: 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM
⏱️ All rentals are 90 minutes or 2 hours only.
That means:
Last 2-hour rentals go out at 5:00 PM
Last 90-minute rentals go out at 5:30 PM
Plan ahead, paddle happy, and we’ll see you on the water!
