Full Sturgeon Moon Paddle / Pedal
Friday, August 28, 2026 | 7:15–9:15 pm
Join us at The Floathouse Petaluma for a beautiful late-summer evening on the Petaluma River—Petaluma’s Longest Park—under the Full Sturgeon Moon.
This moon is named for the ancient sturgeon, once abundant in waterways and lakes throughout North America and vital to Native communities as they prepared for the coming winter. The Sturgeon Moon reminds us that autumn is on the horizon—but not quite yet. There’s still time to linger, float, and savor summer.
We’ll launch half an our before the sun sets, gliding through the tidal slough as twilight settles in. When the moon rises just a quarter of an hour later, we’ll witness an almost-perfect handoff between day and night that’s especially magical from the water.
You’ll ride in our deluxe Hobie pedal kayaks, designed to keep you dry, comfortable, and effortlessly moving, even as the evening stretches a little late. Lights, PFDs, boats, and a knowledgeable local guide are all included. The Floathouse crew has you covered.
Stay out late with us. Summer isn’t done yet.
