The Floathouse Boat Rental Center opened in October, 2022. Over our first year, we weathered historic winter rains and the late arrival of summer, and learned many lessons along the way. As we prepare for Year TWO, we are taking a short hiatus from regular boat rentals to plan for the future, although we are taking reservations by phone and email for group rentals throughout December. We are excited to invite you along on the journey. Please donate today to help YOUR community boating center achieve the following:

• Reduce remaining loans & build reserves to weather the winter ahead. 

• Purchase new boats to help give more families, particularly those with limited boating experience, the chance to get out on “Petaluma’s Longest Park,” the Petaluma River. 

• Fund outreach programs for those in our community without the financial means to access the river. 

• Develop and expand Floathouse programming and events up and down the river. 

During our first year, we were gratified to confirm that community is at the very heart of our business;  Our patrons come to The Floathouse for many reasons, but they leave with an appreciation for the bonding of boating, and a newfound appreciation of the Petaluma River as the the tremendous community resource that it is: an ecological, recreational and cultural treasure, the tidal waterway around which our city was built. 

We serve solo adventurers, families, couples, corporate and school groups, scouting troops, visitors from all over the area and the world, and even folks paddling with pets. Our programming includes upriver tours, high tide rides and full moon paddles, camps, classes and special events for all kinds of groups large and small.
