The Hunter’s Moon Paddle / Pedal is a gentle, early-evening guided paddle that marks the turning point of the season. Taking place just after our lively Witches & Wizards on the Water event, this outing offers a quieter, more reflective way to experience the Petaluma River at dusk.
The Hunter’s Moon—named for the full moon that follows the Harvest Moon—rises shortly before sunset, allowing us to paddle out in soft evening light as the moon lifts into the sky. Historically, this moon was valued for its long nights of illumination at a time when preparation for winter mattered most.
In comfortable, stay-dry Hobie pedal kayaks, we’ll glide through the calm waters of “Petaluma’s Longest Park” to a prime viewing spot, enjoying the transition from daylight to moonlight. This is a moment to pause, appreciate the light we have, and welcome the slower rhythms of late autumn—together, on the water. $60/person, everything included, even moonlight magic.
