Upstream High Tide Paddle
Looking for a unique outdoor adventure in Sonoma County? Whether you're a local or visiting, The Floathouse offers an unforgettable boating experience right in the heart of downtown Petaluma. On Saturday, December 6th, ride an 8.1-foot tide on a magical upstream paddle—this special tide opens up the river in all its glory.
Float past historic Gold Rush-era buildings, then glide into serene wetlands, surrounded by willows, bulrushes, and soaring herons. The combination of this massive tide and the winter season creates an awe-inspiring natural landscape, with box turtles, seasonal waterfalls, and more waiting to be discovered. This is a rare opportunity to explore Petaluma’s natural paradise, right in the center of town.
No experience is necessary—just bring your sense of wonder and get ready to float through one of Petaluma’s best-kept secrets.
Paddle The Petaluma: Turn To The River
The future is NOW for our tidal slough, a Gold Rush-era “saltwater highway.” On this gentle guided paddle, explore its past, be part of its revival, and meet the individuals and organizations who are reclaiming the river. See their work firsthand and experience the lasting benefits for all, on “Petaluma’s Longest Park”.
The Petaluma River is 13 miles long from Basin to Bay, but we’ll be paddling about two miles total. Journey through time and be part of the story.
