Saturday Sunset Series: Open Late!

There’s something magical about a summer evening on the Petaluma River. As the downtown lights begin to glow and the tide shifts with the sunset, the river slows down—and so do we.

If the tide is high, you can drift upstream into the greenery at dusk!

Our Saturday Sunset Series is back after a hugely popular first season in 2025. On select Saturdays from May through October, The Floathouse Petaluma stays open late so you can experience golden hour on “Petaluma’s Longest Park.”

Rent a kayak, canoe, stand up paddle board, pedal kayak, water bike, or bring your own craft and launch into the evening from our low docks! Cruise past the outdoor dining scene around the Turning Basin and Water Street, glide beneath the historic D Street Bridge, or head out into the quieter stretches of the river where the marsh begins to take over. On especially high tides, adventurous paddlers can even sneak upstream into peaceful hidden reaches.

Bring friends. Bring snacks. Bring your dog. Bring your peaceful intentions.

Many evenings may also feature a laid-back DJ set at the dock, adding to the warm community atmosphere that has quickly made these evenings a local favorite.

2026 Saturday Sunset Series Dates

• Saturday, May 16 — Open until 8:30 pm

• Saturday, June 20 — Open until 8:30 pm

• Saturday, July 18 — Open until 8:30 pm

• Saturday, August 15 — Open until 8:30 pm

• Saturday, September 12 — Open until 7:30 pm
  (same evening as Petaluma’s annual Craft Beer Festival on Water Street)

• Saturday, October 10 — Open until 6:30 pm

Closing times shift naturally with the sunset and the season.
